SLV - The medium-sized company with global market qualities

If you look at what SLV actually stands for, you're already looking back at its founding story: Sound, Light, and Video. That might not be a big deal these days. But in 1979, just 100 years after the invention of the commercially available lightbulb and before the emergence of the internet as we know it today, it was quite revolutionary!

Our founder originally wanted to meet the needs of professional DJs who were conquering the nightclub scene with a combination of lighting and music inspired by John Travolta's "Night Fever." Forty years later, SLV GmbH is a conglomerate that successfully distributes lighting and lighting solutions in over 100 countries through 12 subsidiaries. Light remains our passion, and this is reflected throughout our entire supply chain: from in-house innovation to quality assurance and fair pricing.

At SLV, we understand sustainability as a balanced interaction between the three areas of economy, environment, and society. Only by holistically considering all processes of our core business can we ensure long-term success as a company without delivering our services at the expense of society or the environment.

OUR SAMRINA AS A BEST PRACTICE EXAMPLE

The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) has featured our SAMRINA outdoor luminaire as a best-practice example for plastic recycling in one of its guidelines for plastic recyclates. The SAMRINA luminaire achieves the goal of replacing as many primary raw materials as possible with secondary raw materials while maintaining the same high quality and durability of the products. The ground spike lights are predominantly made of Schuladur® GF30 plastic from LyondellBasell, which consists of 35% recycled raw materials. The recycled material accounts for 17% of the total mass of the product.

Replacing primary raw materials with secondary raw materials has a twofold effect. First, waste and residues can be returned to a functioning circular economy, reducing the amount of plastic waste entering the environment. Second, the use of secondary raw materials reduces the need for virgin materials. This reduces the product's ecological footprint while maintaining quality.

OUR PATH TO MORE SUSTAINABILITY

SLV and the SLV Lighting Group GmbH are convinced that the sustainability strategy will have a positive long-term impact on society, the environment, and our economic performance. The Group's ultimate goal is to become climate-neutral for Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from the purchase of electricity, heat, or steam) by 2025. Scope 3 (all other emissions related to the company's activities or those of its partners and suppliers) is also to be covered by 2035.

The integration of social and environmental concerns, which were already covered in detail in the CSR Handbook published in 2021, also remains an important component. Among other things, regular ESG audits are conducted at suppliers to ensure that no human rights violations occur along the value chain and that our suppliers commit to acting in accordance with the Group's values.

Meine Bestellung wurde schnell geliefert, war aber, aufgrund einer fehlerhaften Produktbeschreibung (des Herstellers) eine falsche Ausführung. Ich rief bei dem Händler an und erreichte sofort einen Menschen, was heutzutage leider nicht immer selbstverständlich ist. Mir wurde umgehend und unkompliziert geholfen.
Am nächsten Tag wurde die richtige, höherwertigere Ware ohne Aufpreis kostenlos geliefert.
