This calculator gives you a rough guide to how many lights may be suitable for a room. The calculation is based on room size, room type and the luminous flux per light in lumens.
Please note: This calculator is not a substitute for professional lighting design. The actual lighting requirement may vary depending on beam characteristics, luminaire positioning, wall colours and furnishings.

| Bedroom | approx. 120–180 Lux | Calm general lighting with a comfortable atmosphere |
| Kitchen | approx. 250–350 Lux | Good visibility for everyday use; work areas often benefit from additional lighting |
| Bathroom | approx. 250–350 Lux | General room lighting; mirror areas should usually be considered separately |
| Office / home office | approx. 400–500 Lux | Suitable for focused work |
