MAP 1.6 – High-Quality In-Ground Light for Demanding Outdoor Areas
The MAP 1.6 by Wever & Ducré combines a restrained architectural design with a particularly robust construction for outdoor use. Installed almost flush with the ground, the luminaire itself remains visually discreet while highlighting paths, façades, planting and architectural elements.
The refined combination of stainless steel and glass integrates quietly into modern outdoor environments. Precise light distribution provides controlled, pleasantly low-glare illumination, while the high color rendering index reproduces materials, surfaces and colors naturally.
Key features at a glance
- Designed for demanding outdoor areas: IP67 protection against dust and temporary immersion in water makes the luminaire suitable for permanent ground-level outdoor installation.
- High impact resistance: IK09 provides strong resistance to mechanical loads.
- Very low glare: UGR < 10 supports high visual comfort for restrained architectural and accent lighting.
- High-quality light: the high CRI renders colors, materials and surfaces naturally and with nuance.
- Precise accents: controlled light distribution is ideal for emphasizing façades, walls, trees and other architectural or landscape elements.
- Dimmable: adjust light intensity to the surroundings and desired atmosphere.
- Reduced design: once installed, the luminaire recedes visually so architecture and light remain the focus.
Conclusion
The MAP 1.6 is a high-quality solution for deliberately planned, permanent outdoor lighting. Its robust construction, restrained appearance and excellent glare control make it especially suitable for modern homes, premium gardens and architectural projects.
lightnox.de pro tip: For a particularly refined result, use several MAP 1.6 luminaires at consistent intervals to structure façades or recurring architectural elements. For in-ground luminaires, plan appropriate drainage and the matching installation housing from the outset.

Frequently asked questions about Wever & Ducré 🖤
Who is Wever & Ducré?
Wever & Ducré is a Belgian manufacturer of modern designer and architectural lighting. Its collections combine clean shapes with precise lighting technology and are designed for high-quality residential, commercial and hospitality environments.
What makes Wever & Ducré luminaires special?
Wever & Ducré stands for minimalist design, high-quality craftsmanship and precise lighting effects. Many collections are available in different sizes, colours, colour temperatures and beam angles. This allows the luminaire to be tailored precisely to the room and the desired lighting atmosphere.
What is the difference between LED, PAR16, QT14 and MR16?
These terms describe the lighting technology or lamp socket used:
- LED – permanently integrated LED module. Depending on the luminaire, a separate driver may be required; suitable accessories can be found on the product page.
- PAR16 – for replaceable GU10 lamps operating at 230 V. The lamp is not included, allowing you to choose the colour temperature and – depending on the lamp – the dimming option yourself.
- QT14 – for replaceable G9 lamps operating at 230 V.
- MR16 – for 12 V lamps; a suitable driver is required.
You can find information about any additional accessories required on the respective product page.
What does “Dim to Warm” or 2000–3000 Kelvin mean?
With Dim to Warm, both the brightness and the colour temperature change when the light is dimmed: from approximately 3000 K at higher brightness to an especially warm 2000 K when dimmed. This creates a particularly cosy lighting atmosphere – ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms as well as hospitality and hotel environments.
Which colour temperature is suitable for my application?
As a general guide:
- 2700 K – warm and cosy; particularly suitable for living and lounge areas.
- 3000 K – slightly clearer; often a good choice for hallways, kitchens and bathrooms.
- Dim to Warm (2000–3000 K) – flexible for rooms where both functional and very warm, atmospheric lighting is desired, such as living rooms, bedrooms or bathrooms.
For many LED versions, you can select the colour temperature directly when choosing the product. PAR16/GU10 luminaires are supplied without a lamp, so the colour temperature is determined by the GU10 lamp you choose.
Are suitable accessories or spare parts available from Wever & Ducré?
Suitable drivers, lamps, mounting components and other accessories are available for many Wever & Ducré luminaires. If accessories are required or recommended for a product, you will usually find them directly on the product page. We are also happy to assist you personally with spare parts or older collections.
Can lightnox help me choose the right Wever & Ducré luminaire?
Yes. We are happy to help you with the selection and configuration of suitable Wever & Ducré luminaires – for example regarding colour temperature, beam angle, dimming options, variants and system compatibility. This makes it easier to choose the right version for your room and application.
